One of the most urgent requirements in emergency situations is shelter. Without it, families have no protection against the elements.

What will your gift do?

When families are left with nowhere to sleep, these sturdy waterproof tents become a temporary home and they last for at least six months.

Shelter for the Rohingya (1/2)

Hafsa Begum, aged nine, has four sisters and two brothers. Like other Rohingya children, she has witnessed terrible violence with her own eyes, and her family were forced to flee to Bangladesh to stay alive. Only her elder brother has managed to find employment, working in a mosque to support his family on less than £19 a month. Not only is this traumatised child living in an overcrowded camp with little food and few belongings, she was also coping with inadequate shelter.

You gave Hafsa shelter (1/2)

A few bamboo sticks and some tarpaulin could not protect her family’s makeshift home from rain and wind, and she was vulnerable to sickness. Thanks to a kind donor, we were able to provide her family with a tent and shelter-strengthening materials. This gift helped shield Hafsa’s family from the worst of the oncoming cyclone season.
