Helping Farmers in Niger (1/2)

In August 2018, our donors provided farming tools and seeds to the Birni Commune in Niger, an impoverished community facing food shortages due to low food production. Most of the villagers are farmers, but they don’t have the tools to work the land during the dry season, which means they are unable to produce enough food. This gift allowed the farmers to feed their families as well as giving them a source of income.

We are glad to report that the whole community benefited greatly from our livelihoods project. Bendjoa Namouana, a father of three who has worked the land since he was 14 years old, said: ‘With these seeds and tools, I can increase my harvest and income and feed my children. Please keep supporting farmers, you are doing a good job’.
